Real Housewives of Atlanta

Kandi Burruss’s Single, “Stay Prayed Up”, Praised By Marvin Sapp

Kandi Burruss of The Real Housewives of Atlanta has been getting criticism left and right (mostly right) for her decision to release a gospel song. A lot of peeps feel it's not right for a sex-toy peddlin' woman to sing about God, but she explained that she wrote the song based on her personal experience about how praying has gotten her through hard times.

Now the legendary gospel singer and Kandi's collaborator, Marvin Sapp, has stepped up in her defense. After receiving his own share of judgment for working on the project with Kandi, he posted what he called his "only response" to the situation. You can read the full reply on his Facebook page, but we think this excerpt sums it up pretty well:

"This woman who was an ex R&B singer that sells sex toys and live with her man decided on a show that reaches 10 million viewers per showing (believers and unbelievers) to sing about,,,, Not sex toys, drugs or living with a man but PRAYER!!!!!! and the saints are upset."

Well said, Marvin! Do you agree with him?
