Well...according to ye olde Wikipedia, the phrase “inside out” can refer to a prison exchange program based at Temple University or a juggling maneuver. As much as we appreciate a good juggling metaphor, we think the former has some potential. Rosewood isn’t far from Philadelphia, the location of Temple, and The Inside-Out Prison Exchange Program brings college students and incarcerated men and women together to discuss issues of crime and justice. Could “A” have gotten to Toby while he was in juvie through a similar program? Alternatively, could “A” be in prison right now? Or is refrerring to the the upcoming exchange between Mona (Janel Parrish) and Spencer (Troian Bellisario), who's currently "incarcerated" at Radley.
Going in a different direction: “Will the Circle Be Unbroken?” picks up with Spencer missing and her family and friends panicking. Of course, Spence is tucked inside Radley Sanitarium following the discovery of what was allegedly Toby’s dead body. Could “Insideout” simply refer to the literal and emotional disconnect between the Liars right now -- a broken Spence on the inside of a sanitarium, while the rest of the girls are still going about their regular routine on the “outside,” fighting to find answers for their friend?
...Or maybe “insideout” just refers to how well guest star Olympic Gold Medalist Missy Franklin knows the backstroke. The possibilities are endless! Let us know your best theories below!
