Toby’s Death on Pretty Little Liars: “There’s Always More to the Story,” Says Writer
We can hunt down as many clues as we like in an effort to prove Toby’s (Keegan Allen) alleged death isn’t real, but it is the Pretty Little Liars Powers-That-Be that hold Toby’s fate in their hands and they have been frustratingly tight-lipped about it...until now. PLL writer Joseph Dougherty tweeted this beacon of hope to a panicked fan last night: “There's always more to the story.”
OK, so it’s still pretty vague, but it’s something, and it’s from an actual writer of the show! We hope he’s referring not only to Toby’s death, but also his betrAyal. Just like Spencer (and Emily), we want to believe that there’s a good reason Toby is working for the “A” team.
We know that Keegan Allen will appear at least in the Season 3 finale, and based on these spoilers for the episode, we are relatively sure it is in more than a flashback. We’re hoping that the Spoby “resolution” showrunner Marlene King has promised for the episode is as satisfying as the “pretending not to love you...” moment from the end of Season 2.
Here are some of our suggestions for a possible Toby redemption. Do you have any of your own? Do you think Toby is really dead? Let us know in the comments below!
