Pretty Little Liars Spoiler: Is There a Future for Ezria? Marlene King Says…
The future of Aria (Lucy Hale) and Ezra’s (Ian Harding) relationship was left in question last episode (Season 3, Episode 21: “Out of Sight, Out of Mind”). A teary Aria confided in her mother that, even though she loves Ezra, she’s not sure if she can handle being a quasi-parent to his newly discovered seven-year-old son. To which Ella responded that not all relationships are meant to last forever, and an entire nation of Ezria shippers held their breaths.
Well, shippers, you can exhale because we have the only fan that really matters on our side. PLL showrunner Marlene King tweeted this in response to the “Ezria or Wesria?” ultimatum: “I'll always have a soft spot for Ezria.”
This is comforting, considering not only is Ezra’s son, Malcolm, in the picture, but so is Malcolm's mom, Maggie (Larissa Olenik). They are thinking about moving to Rosewood, which would make Ezra’s life a whole lot more crowded. We can totally understand where Aria is coming from. Not only is she still only in high school, but she has “A” to worry about. That’s more than enough drama or anyone’s life. Not to mention that anyone one of the Liars gets close to is at risk from “A.” If Aria stays with Ezra, Malcolm could come to fall into that category.
Given the odds that are stacked against Ezria, we’re glad Marlene has a “soft spot” for the couple. A heart-shaped stamp of approval from the showrunner is pretty much the closest you can get to security as a television couple. After all, what would Spoby fans do for a little bit of Marlene love right now?
Do you have a soft spot for Ezria? Do you think Aria will stay with Ezra or is she going to take a step back, like Ella recommended? Let us know in the comments below!
