Kim — whose younger sister Kyle is also a Real Housewife and older sister Kathy Hilton is Paris and Nicky’s mom — started her professional career as an infant. After her big break in a diaper commercial, she landed a major TV role on Nanny and the Professor at age 4, and at age 10 she became the first actress to sign with Disney Studios since The Parent Trap’s Hayley Mills. She went on to star in 17 Disney films, including Escape to Witch Mountain and Return from Witch Mountain.
Kim continued acting into the ‘70s and ‘80s on shows like Diff’rent Strokes, The Rockford Files, and CHiPs, but she put her career on hold in 1986 when her first child was born. Brooke is Kim’s daughter with her first husband, supermarket heir G. Morty Brinson. After their amicable divorce, Kim remarried to oil heir Gregg Davis, who is the father of her children Whitney and Chad. That marriage also ended in divorce, but this time it wasn’t so friendly, and she and Gregg battled over alimony and custody of their kids.
Kim was engaged to be married a third time, to commodities salesman John J. Collett, but things ended tragically in 1991 when he was murdered by a hit man over a shady business deal. She had her fourth and youngest child, Kimberly, with ex-boyfriend John Jackson in 1995.
Before joining The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Kim made a brief return to acting and had small roles in films like Black Snake Moan and Race to Witch Mountain, a remake of the film that launched her career.
Given her tumultuous personal life (and many a rough, alcohol-fueled scene on Real Housewives), it was no great surprise when Kim entered rehab in late 2011, and not for the first time. In the show’s third season, however, Kim was back saying, “I’m sober, and I feel great.”
