Queen Elizabeth II Hospitalized!

Well, this won’t do at all. Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II was taken to King Edward VII’s Hospital (named for her great-grandfather) in London on Sunday, March 3, reports CNN. An anonymous palace spokesman states that it was “a precautionary measure,” and that the Queen is only expected to stay for two days.

What is putting the Queen so out of sorts is a case of gastroenteritis, a technical term for what’s better known as “stomach flu” the inflammation of the lining of the stomach and intestines.

At 86, Elizabeth II is Britain’s second-longest-ruling monarch and could overtake the current record holder, Queen Victoria, in a couple years time. Her Diamond Jubilee, celebrating the 60th year of her reign, took place last summer.

We hope the Queen will be back in better health soon. Fortunately, no one around her seems too worried.

What do you think about the Queen's hospital stay? Let us know in the comments!
