Dancing With the Stars 2013: Will Jacoby Jones’ Knee Injury Sideline His Dancing?
Keeping up with the Joneses just got a little too easy. Baltimore Ravens star Jacoby Jones, 28, recently had minor surgery on his right knee and it’s going to delay his Dancing With the StarsSeason 16 rehearsal time. As his partner, Karina Smirnoff, told xfinityTV after last week’s cast announcement, Jacoby will have to watch her do moves for 10 days to two weeks, then he can start practicing with her. Considering the show premieres on Monday, March 18 — that could be cutting it close.
xfinity asked if it will be hard for him to have to watch from the sidelines for a while. “Yeah. I hate sitting on the bench,” Jacoby said. “But when I get in, I get in.”
Do you think this rehearsal delay could affect Jacoby’s first dance? He is an athlete, and they tend to do well on DWTS, so maybe this will just put him on the same level as some of the other contestants. Also, this spring, no one is going home the first week. They get two Mondays worth of dances before the first Results Show, which will probably help everyone, but certainly the extra time should help Jacoby if he’s already behind.
