The official synopsis is:
Cora’s desire to rid herself of Rumplestiltskin in order to take his place as The Dark One takes one step closer to becoming reality as she and Regina try to overpower a dying Mr. Gold, and Mary Margaret is once again tempted by dark magic. Meanwhile, in the fairytale land that was, Rumplestiltskin agrees to offer his services to a younger Cora — for a price — when the king calls her bluff and orders her to actually follow through on her boast of being able to spin straw into gold.
This synopsis confirms that Cora's (Barbara Hershey) goal is to claim the ultimate power for herself, which is a pretty frightening thought. She's evil enough without literally being the Dark One. It also suggests that Regina (Lana Parrilla) sticks by her mother's side, despite learning the depth of her misdeeds during Episode 15. Do you think Regina will actually help her mother become the Dark One, or will she realize that's more or less the worst thing that could possibly happen at this point? And will Snow (Ginnifer Goodwin) actually give into her darker impulses this week? She sounded pretty determined to kill Cora at the end of "The Queen Is Dead," but can her anger really overcome her better nature? Share your theories about this episode in the comments below!
