The Bachelorette

Sean Lowe’s Sister: Desiree for Next Bachelorette! — Exclusive

Sean Lowe’s sister Shay is basically the Bachelor Nation puppet master guardian angel. Shay submitted Sean’s Bachelorette application for him, landing him a spot on Season 8 to woo Emily Maynard. Sean’s elimination in Curacao made him eligible to be the next Bachelor, and the rest is Season 17 history. As we eagerly await ABC to crown the next Bachelorette, we had to turn to our favorite expert. Speaking exclusively with Wetpaint Entertainment, Shay has just one pick for the next Bachelorette: Desiree Hartsock!

“I haven’t met any of the girls, but watching the show back, I really like Desiree,” Shay says, when asked if she could see any of the girls stepping into Emily Maynard’s well-traveled Manolos. Why Desiree? “She’s fun, cute, adventurous,” Shay explains, adding that she paid no attention to Des’s brother’s unkind words to her brother during Hometown Dates. “I ignored the brother thing. Des is just adorable, I think she’d be perfect.”

Seeing as how Shay basically orchestrated Sean’s (interesting, shirtless, most-watched) Bachelor tenure, we trust her opinion as much as we trust Neil Lane’s princess cut diamond collection. And Shay isn’t the only high-ranking Bachelor Nation insider who thinks Des is the right girl for the job!

Speaking with reporters on February 28, 2013, Bachelorette host Chris Harrison had plenty of praise for the 26-year-old fashion designer. “Des is that young, attractive Katie Holmes-looking girl next door. Kind of what the show was built on, finding that diamond in the rough.”
