New Study Says Yes, Your Feet Do Get Bigger During Pregnancy — and They’ll Stay That Way

Sorry to break the news, ladies, but you know how your feet get bigger when you’re pregnant? Yeah, they may permanently be that size. A new study by the University of Iowa found that up to 70 percent of women’s feet grow up to a half an inch longer during pregnancy — and stay that way.

After reading this, we had to ask ourselves: Are we totally convinced that these researchers had nothing better to research about pregnancy than another swelling body part? The answer is no. Pregnant ladies can already look forward to busting blouses (hello, maternity tees!) and a Kim Kardashian-esque behind, so of course they’d love to hear more about how their favorite shoes will no longer fit.

There is one good thing to come of this finding, though: We now have irrefutable evidence from scientists that justifies the biggest shoe shopping spree of our lives. Get out of the way, honey, science says I need new shoes!
