After Kim was spotted wearing a fur stole in Paris, PETA spokesperson Wendy Wegner lashed out at the expectant parents on Radar Online.
“Kim is a commodity; she is paid to wear things like fur, a particular makeup, or to shake hands with dictators,” Wegner said. “So she is not a good example to a child or anyone else of how to show a social conscience.”
Harsh words! Dictators aren’t the biggest of Wenger’s worries, though; she’s mostly concerned that Kim and Kanye will pass on their love of fur to their already-famous baby.
“Children of greedy, self-absorbed parents could follow their lead,” she said. “Or they could break away and be alienated from and disgusted by them.”
She’s obviously hoping that Baby Kimye breaks away from his or her fur and leather-wearing parents, and is counting on Aunt Khloe Kardashian to help that happen.
“Youngsters naturally identify and empathize with animals,” Wenger said. “So even though Kim and Kanye will undoubtedly serve as poor examples when it comes to kindness toward animals, perhaps their child will take after aunt Khloe and choose kindness by rejecting fur.”
Khloe may be an animal-lover, but she’s not PETA’s biggest fan at the moment. She appeared in the organization’s “I’d Rather Go naked” anti-fur campaign, but withdrew her support after Kim was flour-bombed on a red carpet last year!
What do you think, are Kim and Kanye's fashion choices already setting a bad example for their unborn baby?
