Pretty Little Liars Recap: Season 3, Episode 22 — [SPOILER] Is Alive!

Spencer finds a little Lamb! In tonight’s Pretty Little Liars (Season 3, Episode 22: “Will the Circle Be Unbroken”), Spencer starts to unravel, Toby is still "dead," Mona finds a little reading material, Byron helps Ezra for the wrong reasons, and Hanna is about to take a bite out of the Big Apple. Here's our full recap of all the drama in Rosewood this week:

Wherein Aria Has to Lie About Things With Ezra - But What Else Is New?

Are Aria and Ezra about to take a step backwards? It sure seems that way, as Aria has to tell her principal that the only thing she’s ever given to Mr. Fitz is an apple. So now Aria and Ezra are back to sneaking around at school? This all seems very Season 1.

And who do we have to blame this on? That would be Byron — who is earning no one’s vote for Father of the Year — as he helps Ezra get a subbing job with the hope that reuniting Ez with his son and baby mama will break up Ezria. What a sweet gesture, Byron.

Wherein Hanna and Her Mom Are Ready to Start Spreading the News

Is Hanna headed to the concrete jungle where dreams are made of? If we were the other Liars, we’d be rather jealous of Hanna for getting to potentially slip off to NYC for her mom’s new job. Who wouldn’t want to put some distance between themselves and the “A” team and maybe see a Broadway show while doing so?

And the potential move couldn’t come at a better time, with Wilden who’s still alive (sadly) desperate to get his police car back. Too bad it’s at the bottom of the lake. Gulp. If Wilden indeed wants his car, let’s hope he can find a really big net. And let’s also hope he doesn’t mind damp car smell.

Wherein Emily Meets the One Person Who’s a Better Swimmer Than She Is

We’ve never wanted to trust Paige, and now it looks like that might be a good instinct. Apparently, Paige never told Emily that Shana swims. Very strange indeed. However, it was quite cute to see Emily get to meet Olympic swimmer Missy Franklin. And speaking of Olympic swimmers, if Ryan Lochte and his abs ever want to show up on PLL, we would not complain.

Dr. Sullivan was all over this episode, including her awkward exchange with Emily. All of Dr. Sullivan’s comments this week reinforce our hunch that she is on Mona’s side, and she now wants to make Spencer sound crazy. By the way, we still think Toby might be her son. Also, we hope Toby is still alive, since we’d still like more gratuitous shots of him without his shirt.

Wherein Spencer Has a Vision and Not the Inspirational Kind

Poor Spencer has finally lost her marbles. We see her have a hallucination of her friends in the place of Dr. Sullivan and the other Radley patients. We’re always a little frightened of Spencer, but right now we’re even more frightened of her. Then again, having to live in Mona’s old room could make anyone got nuts.

However, Spencer also made the most progress of any of the Liars this week, as she tracked down the real E. Lamb and learned that someone who works at Radley had gotten in trouble for misusing the old ID cards. Nicely done, Spencer you’ve more than earned that extra pudding.

Spencer also finds out Mona has Ali’s diary, containing secrets which Ali had told Spencer she needs to “carry on,” whatever that means. Apparently, the diary reveals that Ali thought she was preggers but wasn’t! So might Ali have been pretending to be pregnant for longer than she was to get something from someone? Either way, we’re just relieved Ali is not a mommy.

We don’t really learn whether Toby is dead or not, but Mona seems genuine when telling Spencer she didn’t kill him. So was the dead body actually someone else’s like maybe Jason’s? Perhaps one day Mona is dressing your wound, and the next day she’s giving you more wounds.

We know the body wasn’t Wilden’s, as he is alive and a little too well. So what could be in his car, which he wants so badly? Might there be evidence linking him to Ali’s murder? Or could he have a body in there like maybe CeCe’s? In other words, we’re guessing the thing he needs to get back is something more important than, say, his tree-shaped car air freshener.

Eddie Lamb doesn’t give us too much info, but he does reveal that someone on the Radley staff got busted for messing with the ID cards. Of course, our first thought is maybe this was Wren, since he’s gone to great lengths to keep Mona at Radley. Does this mean Wren is on the “A” team? If so, Spencer has really bad taste in men.

Shana actually seems kind of sweet, so we’re wondering why Paige never told Em that she’s a swimmer. We’re now curious what else Paige might be lying about, and whether her efforts with Caleb have been in cahoots with the “A” team. We knew we shouldn’t be trusting Pigskin!

One More Thing To Be Discussed:

Is it just us, or does the principal of Rosewood High look an awful lot like Mr. Belding from Saved by the Bell? Come to think of it, Aria is sort of the Zack Morris of Rosewood, since we can imagine Zack dating a teacher at his school. And yes, Hanna is totally Rosewood’s Screech.
