January Jones on Being a Single Mom: “I Don’t Want to Be Pitied”
Mad Men star January Jones looks absolutely smashing on the April cover of Glamour UK this month, showing off her brag-worthy body in a black and white checkered crop top and micro-mini skirt. Let’s just say, the girl makes motherhood look really smoking hot! In the magazine, January opens up about being a single mother to 1-year-old son Xander, whose father was reportedly left off of the birth certificate.
“People keep saying, ‘Oh poor you, being a single mom,’ but I don’t want to be pitied,” she says. “I can do anything I want to do. I work, I date, I have friends. I have time for everything I had time for before. I just have an added amazing thing in my life. I have a great family and friends, and I know they’d be there if I needed help, but I feel like I’m doing fine on my own.”
The blonde beauty also talked about her placenta-eating statement that was heard ‘round the world. While she says ingesting her placenta helped her bounce back after baby, she now feels that she should have never opened up about it. “I should never have told anyone about that,” says January. “But it’s not gross or witchcrafty. Nor am I putting it in a shake or eating it raw. It’s a very civilized thing that can help women with depression or fatigue. I was never depressed or sad or down after the baby was born, so I’d highly suggest it to any pregnant woman.”
