Sofia Vergara has a 20-year-old son from her first marriage — and her character, Gloria, just gave birth on Modern Family — but reports say she and her fiance, Nick Loeb, are working toward a child of their own, via surrogate.
A source close to Sofia, 40, told Page Six, “The child will be biologically Sofia and Nick’s baby, and she has selected a surrogate — who is a very close girlfriend — to carry the baby. A procedure has taken place, and Sofia and Nick will find out in a few weeks if it was successful, if the surrogate is pregnant, and if they will become parents.”
The source said they’ve both wanted a baby for a while, especially Nick, although he’s reportedly a little uneasy that the surrogate is Sofia’s good friend. But he’s “very excited about becoming a father.”
Interestingly enough, the National Enquirer just had a rumor that Sofia and Nick were expecting their first child via surrogate. According to their report (via RumorFix), Sofia was absent from the Oscars red carpet due to a pregnancy scare from the woman carrying their child. Who knows if that’s half right or close to right or what.
Either way, it sounds like Sofia is trying hard to be a mom again — and we wish her the best of luck!
