Bachelor Sean Lowe Is Happy With His Pick, Nervous to Face Runner Up

The world will watch as Bachelor Sean Lowe doles out his final rose on Monday, March 11, 2013 to either Catherine Giudici or Lindsay Yenter. The 29-year-old Texas entrepreneur and his Season 17 final pick will then make their public debut — and Sean will face the girl with whom he didn’t choose to spend the rest of his life. In short:

“It’s definitely an emotional finale,” Sean, laughing nervously, tells The Hollywood Reporter in a new interview. “I mean, I’m looking at Lindsay and being like, I can see myself marrying her, and I see all these wonderful qualities in her, but then I look at Catherine and I think the same thing.” Catherine’s emotional letter — handed to Chris Harrison to give to Sean in the eleventh hour — certainly didn’t make the final decision any easier, and neither did Sean’s mother’s plea to him that he opt out of proposing altogether.

In the end, Sean did indeed propose (with a 4-carat Neil Lane ring, no less), and he’s very happy with the lucky lady, to whom he’s been engaged since November 2012, when the finale was filmed. “I’m happy, and I think everything worked out just the way it was supposed to,” Sean says, grinning wide.

Sean has already seen most of the finale, and directly after his proposal airs, he and his fiancee will take the stage for The Bachelor Season 17 “After the Final Rose” live special. Despite his newly-engaged bliss, Sean is very nervous to face his No. 2 choice. “It’s always awkward to see your exes,” the Bachelor says. “Especially to face someone who had such strong feelings for you and thought they were going to spend the rest of their life with you, so I’m nervous for that.”

After Sean’s emotionally scarring reunion with AshLee Frazier at “Women Tell All,” we’d have PTSD from that hot seat, too.

Tune in to ABC Monday, March 11, 2013, at 8pm to catch The Bachelor Season 17 finale, followed by the one-hour live “After the Final Rose” special.
