Kim Kardashian has always been fascinated by crime fighting, which is how she ended up working alongside a private investigator on the latest episode of Kourtney and Kim Take Miami. But this rookie PI got a little more than she bargained for, when she ended up helping out on a case that was much more than met the eye. Thrill-seeker Kim sought out a PI named Jake, who let her help out on one of the kidnap recovery cases he works, pro bono. In this case, a 15-year-old girl named Fara had run away, and Jake and his team were working to track her down. They started by talking to Fara’s family. When Kim heard that Fara had a boyfriend, she immediately zeroed in on him as the prime suspect, and put her online stalking skills social media savvy to good use to find him.
Kim, of course, was delighted with her assignment. “There is nothing more I love in life than to spy on people,” she confessed.
And, no surprise, she did it really well! Kim tracked down photos of a man she suspected was Fara’s boyfriend. Jake was impressed with her detective skills, but what she dug up wasn’t so pretty: he turned out to be a 29-year-old man with a criminal record who is possibly running a prostitution ring. “This just makes me sick to my stomach,” Kim said. “I have little sisters her age.” The plot got thicker and thicker. Jake tracked down several possible addresses for their suspect, and wanted to bring Kim along to help ID him.
“I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t scared,” Kim admitted. “But I don’t want to give up on this little girl.”
On their nighttime stake-out Kim identified the suspect, and wanted the men to go right in and rescue Fara. Unfortunately, it wasn’t that simple. Given the seriousness of the situation, Jake tells her the best thing to do is call the police and let them take over. “Remember, we’re not law enforcement, we’re private investigators and we did our job,” one of Jake’s associates said. “And you did a hell of a job, Kim.” Kim was frustrated to have come so far with no results, but she understood. “Unfortunately things don’t pan out the way that you plan them to,” she explained. “And if there’s anything I can ever do to help, I most certainly will.”
Sadly, her help may still be needed. A postscript to the show said that the leads Kim helped find have run thin, and Jake is still looking for Fara.
While this ending is far from happy, we’re still proud of Kim for trying to help someone in such a terrible situation. Keep up the good work, Kimmy!
