Once Upon a Time Season 2, Episode 16: "The Miller's Daughter" ended with a big twist: Cora (Barbara Hershey) died, thanks to Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) tricking Regina (Lana Parrilla) into putting her heart back in, after Snow had cursed the heart with the enchanted candle.
In the end, Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle) was saved, but now it looks like Regina is ready to destroy her old rivals. And Snow clearly regretted her actions almost immediately. Will she be able to live with the guilt?
What did the cast think of this big episode, and what happens next? Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with the cast while they were at PaleyFest. This is what some of the key players had to say about tonight's game changer and what it means for the rest of the season.
Ginnifer Goodwin. Snow is one of the characters most central to Cora's death. So how will her actions this week impact her going forward? "Snow's actions certainly shake her self confidence and her self definition, her very identity and faith in herself," Ginnifer revealed. She also noted that things have "continued to be bumpy" for Snow and Charming.
Josh Dallas. Josh told us he hadn't seen the scripts for the final episodes, so he didn't know exactly what was going to happen by the end of the season. But he did tease, "I know it will be exciting, and pushing the envelope like in the first season," adding, "I think it's getting very interesting with this family dynamic."
Lana Parrilla. "There is a lot that is kept from Regina. I think Regina is starting to see her mother's history, and was really surprised by it. There is so much there that she just never knew," Lana told us. "Even though she has a lot of questions, I don't think she will ever get the answers to those questions."
If you think you know what happens next, you should think again. OUAT writer Jane Espenson mentioned in a recent interview that there are some surprises coming up that she hasn't seen anyone guess yet. Hmmm ... Better get speculating!
