American Idol

Amber Holcomb American Idol 2013 Top 10 Performance (VIDEO)

American Idol 2013 Top 10 contestant Amber Holcomb is on her second time around on the hit reality TV talent show. She jokes that last season she was “just kidding around,” but this year she’s dead serious about winning the Season 12 crown.

Amber Holcomb emerged as a surprise powerhouse in Las Vegas. Little was seen of her before she wowed the American Idol judges with her take on the classic song “My Funny Valentine” during the girls’ sudden death round. This was the round Amber was cut in last season, but this time around she earned an easy trip to the Top 20 semi-finals. Randy Jackson called Amber a “shining diamond” and Keith Urban said she “knocked it out of the park.”

After her Vegas performance, Amber went from an almost total unknown factor to a strong frontrunner among the ladies. In the Top 20 semi-finals, she dared to take on “I Believe In You and Me” by Whitney Houston. Her fantastic rendition garnered her the only standing ovation from all four judges the night she performed. The voters agreed and sent her through to the Top 10.

For the American Idol Top 10 performance show, the contestants were asked to perform ‘Songs of the American Idols’ for the theme this week. Did Amber choose the right American Idol winner’s song to show off her ‘total package’? Give us your thoughts!
