South Carolina native Candice Glover is hoping the third time's the charm on American Idol 2013. She earned a golden ticket to Hollywood in Season 9 and Season 11, but it wasn’t until this year she finally made it to the Top 10. Now she’s determined this time around, she won’t be going home until she’s crowned the next American Idol winner. After being cut in the Las Vegas rounds last year, Candice Glover wasn’t sure she should keep trying. She went back to performing at bars and weddings in St. Helena Island, and wasn’t sure what would happen next. When American Idol Season 12 chose nearby Charlotte, NC as an audition city, she told us in an exclusive interview it was “like God put that audition” there and she “didn’t have a choice but to go.” Candice earned rave reviews from the American Idol judges with her audition performance of “Syrup and Honey” by Duffy. Randy Jackson called it the best performance he had heard so far. She was given an enthusiastic ‘yes’ by all of the judges and passed on to Hollywood Week once again. This year, however, Candice wasn’t about to let herself get the boot before she made it to the American Idol Top 10 finalists. She gave stellar performances throughout the Hollywood and Vegas rounds, finally getting the chance to go in front of the voters as part of the Top 20 in the 2013 semi-finals rounds. Her performance of “Ordinary People” by John Legend absolutely wowed the judges, leaving Nicki Minaj speechless and prompting Randy Jackson to say she possibly had the best voice in the whole competition. On the American Idol Season 12 Top 10 performance show, Candice and the rest of the contestants were asked to perform ‘Songs of the American Idols’ for this week’s song theme.
