Pretty Little Liars Season 3 Spoilers: Is “A” Using Blackmail To Recruit Her Team Members?
Pretty Little Liars’ A” is still a mystery to us, but we at least now know a few members of her team: Mona (Janel Parrish),Toby (Keegan Allen), and now Spencer (Troian Bellisario). Apparently, we are going to meet a few more members in the Season 3 finale. How is “A” recruiting all of these people? There can’t be that many vengeful people in Rosewood, can there? Now, new scoop from E! Online has us asking the question: Could “A” be blackmailing her team members? E! Online had this to say specifically: “...Looking to next week's finale, we'll see how ‘A’ has assembled his or her team: Is it recruitment or blackmail?"
The latter could explain an awful lot about Toby’s betrAyal. Before, our hopeful theory was that he joined the “A” team to keep Spencer safe, but the idea of “A” blackmailing Toby into joining her posse (similar to how Ali blackmailed him into taking the fall for the garage explosion) sounds even more plausible. We know we’re going to see Toby’s mom in the Season 4 premiere. Could she actually be alive and being used to buy Toby’s allegiance?
Mona seems far too content in her role as tormenter for having been blackmailed into it, but it’s hard to say with Spence. We are leaning toward a double agent explanation over a blackmail explanation for her “A” team allegiance, but we can’t rule it out. Spencer has gone to great lengths to protect the people she loves in the past.
This also got us wondering about who else might be on the “A” team based on blackmail potential. Many people have someone they would do anything to protect, so it doesn’t narrow it down much, but it does make us extra suspicious of Dr. Sullivan. She was blackmailed for her allegiance once before. Who’s to say she still isn’t being blackmailed? And what about Wren? We don’t know anything about his family, and he spends so much time at Radley — a place that seems to be at the center of Rosewood’s mysteries.
Do you think “A” is blackmailing her recruits? If so, who else could be on the “A” team? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
