Grey’s Anatomy: Is Addison Coming Back? Shonda Rhimes Says…
Ever since fans learned that Private Practice was ending this year, people have been wondering if Addison Montgomery (Kate Walsh) will return to Grey's Anatomy. Now, showrunner Shonda Rhimes has weighed in, and the news should make Addison's fans happy. While Shonda admitted there are no immediate plans for Addison to return, she told the Hollywood Reporter that "before the show ends its run, Addison has got to put on her shoes and scrub cap and come scrub in at the hospital. That's a given for me."
In the past, Kate Walsh has said she's open to returning to the show, so it sounds like Addison returning, at least in a guest role, is pretty much guaranteed at some point (assuming scheduling works out for everyone).
And what about Caterina Scorsone (Amelia Shepherd), another Private Practice star who has appeared on Grey's in the past? Shonda says she would like to see Amelia drop by Grey's again "at some point," too. After all, she is Derek's sister.
We're excited about the prospect of both Addison and Amelia coming back. We'd especially love to see Addison return for a longer arc. Make it happen, Shonda!
