Grey's Anatomy Season 9, Episode 17: "Transplant Wasteland" ended with a twist: After a proposal from a newly ballsy Jackson (Jesse Williams), the board agreed to rename the hospital Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.
If we're being honest, our reaction to this move is mixed. On one hand: Tears, tears everywhere. This is a gorgeous tribute to the still dearly missed Mark and Lexie, and it makes sense that a hospital run by doctors should be named after doctors. One one level, it's entirely perfect and we love it.
However, we have to admit we're a little weirded out by the idea of Seattle Grace no longer having Seattle Grace somewhere in its name. It's a big change to the hospital at the heart of this show, and we have a feeling we're going to find ourselves saying and typing the wrong thing for ages.
In the end, we think the honor to Mark and Lexie outweighs our dislike of losing the name we've loved for so long. But what do you think? Do you like the new name? Vote in the reaction buttons, and share your thoughts in the comments below.
