Nashville TV Spoilers: Will Deacon’s Past Come Back to Haunt Him?
Before Deacon Claybourne (Charles Esten) became the soft-spoken, hard-thinkin’ sensitive crooner with a penchant for giving unsolicited advice, he wasn’t such a sweetie. In fact, the frequent rehabber was a terrible drunk, as documented by the hurt in Rayna’s eyes and the unspoken words between them about what happened to Nashville’s most interesting non-couple. But just because things seem to be getting better between them doesn’t mean all of Deac’s problems are in the pst.
In past episodes, it has been hinted that Deacon may have caused an accident during his less sober days. So, when will we find out about what exactly happened and what that means for Deacon’s future? Well, according to TVLine, it might not be as pretty as the man in question.
“It’ll come up later,” series creator Callie Khouri says of Deacon’s dodgy past. “We’ll find out more about that time in his life.” We don’t know when the big reveal will happen, but with seven more episodes remaining in Season 1 — including a finale we’re sure will be one giant mindf*ck — we’re thinking it might be this season. Could it coincide with another big question surrounding his past? Because it might be ironic, but we don’t think we can handle that much drama without a seriously large whiskey.
