And don't forget to check out our 10 Burning Questions from the episode for even more clues and hints! 5. Aria Montgomery Why she might be “A”: Aria seemed distraught when Malcolm went missing — but then why didn’t she ask Malcolm for at least some bit of info about what the person who took him to the carnival looked like? And why wouldn’t Aria try a bit harder to chase after Malcolm when he was buying the balloon? Something was off there. Why she might not be: Obviously, the fact that Aria was drugged and locked in a crate makes it less likely for her to be on the “A” team. Regardless, we’re so stressed about trying to figure out who’s on the “A” team that we wish someone would buy us a balloon.
4 Melissa Hastings Why she might be “A”: Melissa told CeCe that Mona was in Radley, which is suspicious. We’re also wondering if Spencer joining the “A” team means perhaps Melissa is on the “A” team, too. Plus, if Jason is in fact dead, then we can see Melissa having had something to do with it, since they have always had a sketchy history — which includes their strange kiss. Yikes.
Why she might not be: We’d like to think Melissa wouldn’t actually be the one torturing her sister and, say, locking her in a steam room. But with Melissa, you never know.
3. CeCe Drake Why she might be “A”: CeCe is a prime suspect — especially until we learn who Red Coat is next week, given CeCe’s hair color. Could CeCe be the one who gave Ali the bloody lip in the flashback? And does the fact that Ali got CeCe kicked out of school tell us something about one of them being “A”? Still, it’s not like CeCe would have graduated at the top of her class anyway.
Why she might not be: We’re inclined to think that, if CeCe were “A,” she could get into Radley on her own without needing to borrow a pass from Wren. “A” somehow has access to a pass for everything.
2. Wren Kingston Why he might be “A”: We now know Wren got CeCe into Radley to see Mona, which we’re guessing is not just because he’s a gentleman. And he appears to be covering for Spencer’s absence from Radley when he tells Eddie not to deliver the book to Spencer’s room. We never thought a book recommendation could cause so much drama.
Why he might not be: We doubt the show would tell us he got a Radley pass for CeCe if he is in fact “A.” This show hates to make things easy on us.
1. Alison DiLaurentis Why she might be “A”: The evidence just keeps mounting that Ali has a twin and is still alive, as she appears at Radley to tell Spencer she never really knew her. Plus, we’re thinking Ali’s twin might have been the one who busted Ali’s lip. And if Jason really is dead, we wouldn’t be too surprised that Ali is behind it, considering all their bad blood.
Why she might not be: We know Ali has hated Jason at times, but the fact that she would actually kill him - if he in fact died at the hands of the “A” team — would be somewhat shocking. Otherwise, we really don’t have any doubts that Ali will ultimately turn out to be “A” — but we might change our minds at any moment.
