First, Darren Criss’ character, Blaine, takes on Mariah’s “I Still Believe,” and then Jane Lynch’s character, Sue, bravely (and hilariously, as always) takes on Nicki’s super-wordy “Super Bass.” Ultimately, the two are mashed together, although Sue Sylvester pretty much wipes the floor with Blaine. It’s quite a tribute to Nicki, as the Cheerios all seem to be Nicki-ettes. At one point, the lights go out, and in the neon lighting Jane looks to be wearing Nicki’s infamous light pink lipstick.
While Jane Lynch absolutely killed it, we're afraid she still fell short of the pure insanity of Nicki's original "Super Bass" video. For pure hilarity, however, we might actually give a win to Sue for making us literally LOL.
So what did the Minajesty think about all this? Nicki took to Twitter after the show aired to express the fact that she’s–pardon the expression–tickled pink: “*kisses Jane & everyone @ Glee* HILARIOUS!!!!!!!” As we saw when she threatened to leave after the judges refused to save Curtis Finch, Jr. on last night’s results show, you do not want to get on Nicki’s bad side. So her latest tweet likely comes as quite a relief to the cast of Glee! You might recall Nicki loved it when daring hopeful Sarah Restuccio rapped “Super Bass” for her during American Idol auditions. Maybe she’s not as big of a hard a$$ as we thought!
