Beyonce: I’m Not Naturally Thin, Had to Do This to Lose Baby Weight
Beyonce and Jay-Z welcomed baby Blue Ivy Carter in January 2012. A year later, Beyonce is on the cover of Shape magazine, talking about her weight loss.
"I gained 57 pounds when I was pregnant," Beyonce told Shape. "I didn't have a lot of time to lose the weight because I scheduled a show three months after I gave birth, which I would never do again!” Cardio dance workouts helped her get back in shape but she reportedly said 80 percent of her weight loss came from cutting back on food, including her beloved pasta. "I ate a very low-calorie diet. I stayed away from red meat and ate a lot of fish, replaced pasta and rice with quinoa," Bey said.
She said it wasn’t easy for her, since she does have a bootylicious body, not a stick figure. "I'm not a person that is naturally very thin. I am a person that has to work at keeping my body in shape." As she added, "Not everyone is supposed to be the same. Be healthy and take care of yourself, but be happy with the beautiful things that make you, you." Well said!
