We are looking forward to seeing country crooner Blake Shelton cracking jokes and making fun of Adam Levine on The Voice when Season 4 premieres on March 25, but it seems that the CMA Entertainer of the Year is ready for a break from his television schedule.
“It ties you into L.A. for a week,” he explained to The Boot. “You do a read-through on a Friday, and then you rehearse Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and film it Thursday … and you’re right back doing the next show the next day.”
And Blake has no intentions of adding more roles to his television résumé. He appeared in a recent episode of Reba McEntire’s new sitcom Malibu Country and even had his own Christmas special on NBC in 2012.
”As soon as the leash gives me a little slack from The Voice, I’m going straight back into touring,” Blake said. “I can’t see myself going from The Voice into more television. I think there will at least be a break there.”
While we love Blake’s devotion to his craft and his fans, we hope he doesn’t get too tired of The Voice’s strenuous schedule. The show wouldn’t be the same without him!
