Grey’s Anatomy Season 9: All My Children’s Jennifer Bassey Set to Guest-Star

Now that Seattle Grace-Mercy West has a new name (Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital) and is owned by a medical legend (Dr. Catherine Avery), it comes as no surprise that they’ve cast a TV legend for a two-episode arc.

Though she hasn’t been on All My Children for a few years, Jennifer Bassey went from Playboy model to soap opera star in 1983, playing Marian Chandler for nearly nearly three decades. And though we know nothing about her character, Jennifer tweeted excitedly about her role yesterday, writing, “Got a two episode role on Grey's Anatomy. Wonderful part and i'm very excited. Start mon. the 18th. what a great show. xx :).”

The 70-year-old actress could be playing any number of roles, ranging from a patient to someone’s grandmother. Or could she be the “big time, powerful lead investigator” who pops up toward the end of the season? Hey, it’s a stretch, but anything could happen on Grey’s! Jennifer starts filming today, so here’s to hoping she drops a few clues on Twitter.
