American Idol’s Paul Jolley Says Carrie Underwood Is His Dream Mentor – Exclusive!

American Idol 2013 contestant Paul Jolley would love to hook up with former Idol winner Carrie Underwood! No, not like that! Get your mind out of the gutter! The Season 12 contestant would love to spend some quality time with Carrie learning everything he can about how she made it to the top on Idol and beyond.

In an exclusive interview with Wetpaint, Paul Jolley tells us why the country superstar would be his dream mentor. Plus, he shares who his closest friend in the American Idol 2013 house is and which judge he connects with the most.

Who are you closest to in this competition?

You know, I wouldn't pinpoint one person because I feel like we're all just one big family, and we all deeply care for each other and the best wellbeing for everyone.

But there's got to be somebody you were so happy that made the top ten?

I would say my closest friend that made the top ten would be Kree. We're both natives of Nashville, Tennessee, and we've done interviews and things like that there. And we've become close. That's the closest connection that I have there.

What about dream mentors?

I haven't even thought about that one because all this other stuff's been going on. I'd be okay with Carrie Underwood because she's been through this process and knows how it all goes. And I would love to get her advice on everything.

Is there a judge that you're connecting with right now?

I probably connect with Keith Urban the most because we both connect on that country level, and of course, he’s always someone that I've looked up to since I was a little kid, so, yeah.

Stay tuned for more from Paul Jolley and the rest of the American Idol 2013 finalists as our exclusive interviews and insider coverage continues all season long!
