Indie Rocker Jason Molina Dies Following Battle With Alcohol Abuse
Sadly, the world has lost a great and beloved musician.
Jason Molina, who is known for the indie-rock groups Songs: Ohia and Magnolia Electric Co., died on March 16 from organ failure, according to EW.
Jason was 39 and had been public about his longtime struggles with alcohol abuse.
He had spent numerous stints in rehab, and his family had set up a fund in 2011 in order for fans to donate money to alleviate his medical costs.
Jason's most recent album was 2012's solo effort Autumn Bird Songs.
Our thoughts are with Jason's family and loved ones.
