Pregnant Kate Middleton Suffers a Fashion Mishap at St. Patrick’s Day Parade (PHOTO)
On Sunday, pregnant Kate Middleton and Prince William walked together in the St. Patrick’s Day parade at the Aldershot Barracks. Dressed to the nines in his ceremonial garb, William looked every bit the prince — and it’s a good thing, because he had to help save his princess from a near fashion disaster!
The Duchess donned a festive green Emilia Wickstead dress coat, a black hat, the Queen Mother’s gold shamrock brooch, and Emmy pumps. She looked radiant, but her fashion misstep came when her heel got stuck in a grate in the ground and she nearly fell. Grabbing onto her supportive hubby’s arm, she was finally able to work the shoe out of the grate and continue on.
Oh, phew! Just when we thought we couldn’t handle Kate Middleton’s perfection (we know, we’re just jealous), she goes and trips in her high heels, like all of us have, endearing herself even more to regular women around the world.
Now don’t get us wrong, we do not want to see the Duchess get hurt, but just knowing she’s not immune to some harmless embarrassment just makes her a little more real. After all, if we had a dime for the number of times our heels have gotten hooked into a subway grate on the street, we’d be millionaires. We only wish we could pull off the situation as gracefully as Kate.
Thankfully, the Duchess was completely unharmed, and she and her real life prince completed the ceremony, presenting shamrocks to the 1st Battalion Irish Guards.
All in all, Kate’s life with Prince William seems like a real fairy tale, and the couple’s first child, who is due to make his or her royal arrival in July, is just another piece of her happily ever after puzzle.
