Deaf Woman Hears Son’s Voice For the First Time and Her Reaction Will Make You Cry

There’s a new video is sweeping the internet and we dare you not to cry after watching. It’s a bit long, but the payoff is totally worth it.

In the video, 26 -year-old Amy, who has been deaf since birth, was trying out her new hearing implants. Through the miracle of technology, she is able to hear her 6-year-old son’s voice saying “Hi Mom” for the very first time. It’s hard not to watch this emotional scene without feeling a ton of empathy for this mom.

Amy also gets to hear her own parents’ voices for the first time, adding to the good vibrations.

The video was captured six months ago by Amy’s Aunt Catherine, who recently posted this update on You Tube:

“(Amy) is continuing her hard work of speech and sound therapy to distinguish what sound is. Her pronunciation has improved vastly and she can hear words and especially music! Naturally, after a lifetime of lip reading and signing, it is still necessary for her to rely on that skill to have conversation in a group. Every day is new and sometimes an exhausting experience. She loves the challenge to improve yet more and she is a joy to be around.”

We wish Amy and her family the best of luck!
