There have been many American Idol auditioners who have had run-ins with the law (the Brittenum twins come to mind), and now another past hopeful has joined the Idols of Shame (again).
For the second time in four months, Antonio Wheeler, who first auditioned with “I Heard It Through the Grapevine” and became known as “Skii Bo Ski,” is facing three or more charges of trying to sell fake computers. Posing as a Best Buy employee, he would show potential buyers a real Macbook Pro that was he was selling for the low, low price of $400. When the innocent (albeit naive) victims would pay him, he would hand them a box that only held a ream of paper.
Here’s the kicker–he gave some of them his real phone number, and a local Florida news correspondent was even able to reach him on his cell. Of course, he hung up when she revealed who she was.
Perhaps he’ll audition next year with “Jailhouse Rock”. Groan.
