Jillian Harris on Her Wedding: Exclusive Details on Her Dream Day
Jillian Harris experienced all the drama, heartbreak, and hot tubs on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, but it wasn’t until last year that she met the man she calls “the one.” It’s true love, y’all, and Jilly recently spoke exclusively to Wetpaint Entertainment about what she hopes will happen next with her main squeeze, snowboarder Justin Pasutto.
The pair recently returned from a gorgeous trip to Maui, where they drank white wine, posed attractively, and got some sun. And although the two aren’t engaged yet, the Hawaiian getaway seems like the perfect start to a relaxing lope to the altar, dontcha think?
Whether he puts a ring on it today, tomorrow, or somewhere down the line, you can bet that Jilly already has a pretty good idea of where she wants to get married, who she wants there, and what special little details the interior designer will bring into her big day.

Wetpaint Entertainment: To be honest, we’ve been staring at pictures of you and Justin, like, all day. Let’s take it back to the beginning: how long have you guys been together? Jillian: Our first date was June 7, 2012, so... (counts on fingers), March 7 will be 9 months.
Oh, that’s so great. You two are beautiful together. So let’s fast forward to the future and say you guys get married — destination or hometown? Um, well it’s funny because he actually asked me that the other day. And I would want to get married at this nut farm in Kelowna that’s right on the beach. And it’s really rustic and really Canadian and it’s close to our hometown. And he was like “oh, really?” and he considered it and then said, “I always pictured myself going away for mine.”

But then we talked about it some more and we have so much family, and our grandparents wouldn’t be able to go away. I imagine that if we ever do get married, it will be in Kelowna, or in the general area. I imagine, but who knows.
I’m not engaged yet, so I probably shouldn’t put the cart before the horse... I mean, but every woman does that.
In terms of the size of the wedding, are you looking big? Small? Are you going to have your Bachelor friends come? And would you do it for an ABC special? Um, I think in terms of doing it publicly, I think that’s something we’d have to make sure each other and the family is comfortable with. I think anything is possible. I know that the Bachelor family adores Justin, so I think that if that opportunity was there, we’d do it. But I would really, really, really push to do it in Canada and I don’t know if logistically if that’s even possible. And I don’t know since Justin and I didn’t meet on the show if we would have that same viewership potential as, say, Ashley [Hebert] andJ.P. [Rosenbaum].
I think Justin and I really want to have a lot of people there — friends and family from all over the place. And in terms of having the Bachelor family, I think it makes sense to invite the people we’ve organically become friends with, and organically grown to love. Uh, but I wouldn’t invite people just for the sake of inviting celebrities. That’s not my style. We’ve naturally become friends and family with a lot of people, and we’d love to have them. I see a lot of people, but a really down-to-earth, homestyle wedding.
Do you have any kind of inclination to design a backdrop or other details? I don’t know, I try to keep things in perspective. It’s a fresh relationship, but I think we both think the other person is the one. But at the same time, you don’t want to count your chickens before they hatch, but as a woman, I’ve been thinking about it forever. I want something very feminine, and very fresh, with lots of wildflowers in mason jars. And I’m friends with the guys from the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, so I’m sure they’ll be there. I imagine it’ll be a pretty, country wedding, but at the same time, there’s somebody else to consider in this, and I want to make sure that he gets the same say in the process as I do.
When the time comes, I really think I’ll be a laid back bride. I’ve been to a lot of weddings and I’ve seen a few Bridezillas in my day. And at the end of the day, it only matters that he and I are happy, and feeling on top of the world, and that everyone else is happy and at ease. That’s all I really care about.
