Pretty Little Liars

Pretty Little Liars Season 3 Burning Question: What’s in Wilden’s Car?

Warning: This article contains MAJOR spoilers for the Pretty Little Liars Season 3 finale (Season 3, Episode 24: "A dAngerous gAme").

The Pretty Little Liars Season 3 finale ended on a cliffhanger. Detective Wilden's (Bryce Johnson) car mysteriously appeared, and the Liars (plus Mona) opened the trunk only to find...

Something shocking!

Yeah, it turns out "what's in the trunk?" is the new big question. All we know is it made all five girls gasp. We also assume Wilden knew about it, given how desperate he was to get his car back. Thought it's possible that's not true. What could it be? We have a few guesses.

Dead Body

When anyone is that shocked, our mind automatically goes to dead body. Could Wilden have a body in the trunk and, if so, whose could it be? Cece (Vanessa Ray) fled Rosewood not soon after she was publicly manhandled by Wilden and hasn’t been seen since. Did Ms. Drake ever make it out of Rosewood, or was she stopped by Wilden?

Connection to Garrett’s Murder

We saw a random fisherman fish a Rosewood police hat out of the lake where the car was ... parked. At the time, we thought it might be a hint that Wilden’s body was in the car, but now we’re wondering if it was a reference to a different police officer: the late Garrett Reynolds (Yani Gellman). Garrett’s murder on the Halloween train hasn’t gotten much play this season, but his killer is still at large and we’re still not really sure what happened. Could Wilden have been connected to the murder? Is there evidence the car that ties him to it? (Though if there is, it would have to be very clear evidence to get a response like that).

A Message From "A"

Maybe the Liars were just shocked to find a message from "A". Perhaps "A" left blackmail material in the trunk, to remind the girls (and Mona) who's boss?
