Glee’s Finchel will be performing a song together on an upcoming Season 4 episode — so does this mean Rachel (Lea Michele) will soon be getting back together with Finn (Cory Monteith) and his fists of steel?
As it turns out, this song might not be quite the romantic Finchel reconciliation that we’ve been hoping for. In fact, it appears to be a group number at McKinley featuring the original New Directions members — although a New Directions reunion is nothing to sneeze at either.
Lea took to Twitter on March 20 to provide a tease about the tune:
So while we’d love to see another Finchel duet, we’re beyond thrilled about old-school New Directions getting the gang back together. After all, the performance of “Homeward Bound”/“Home” earlier this season included an awful lot of original New Ds, but Rachel and Kurt were both notably absent — and that’s almost unforgivable.
Still, the fact that Rachel and Finn will both be performing the song together suggests that they could in fact have a romantic scene before or after the song. We haven’t heard yet that Finchel will be officially getting back together anytime soon, but you never know.
And now that Finn has given Brody (Dean Geyer) a good ol’ fashioned pummeling after realizing he’s a gigolo, along with Finn calling Rachel his “future wife,” it’s clear that Finn is finally willing to fight for her. Whether Rachel currently thinks of Finn as her “future husband” remains to be seen.
We’re also wondering what song the original New Directions members might be performing. Judging from the fact that there is a dance rehearsal for it, we’re guessing it’s something uptempo.
At any rate, we’ll just have to wait and find out what song it is. In the meantime, we’ll be busy replaying the clip of Finn using the words “my future wife” over and over again.
