If you're raising your eyebrow at that odd name, this might help: The Turn of the Screw is a famous ghost story by Henry James. Given Pretty Little Liars' love of referencing classic literature and film, we assume the title is an intentional nod to that novella.
The Turn of the Screw is an ambiguous story involving a governess who begins to see mysterious figures on the grounds of the estate that she's working on. It's a novella filled with dark secrets, and "ghosts" that may or may not be all in the governess's mind. Sound familiar? It's certainly a story that meshes with Pretty Little Liars on a thematic level.
Now, how do shoes factor into this? We have no idea. But we hope this episode will give us more insight in the perhaps not-so-supernatural appearances of Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse). Or, even better: Maybe we'll finally get an explanation of the "ghost" girl Ashley Marin (Laura Leighton) saw in the Season 3 Halloween episode (Season 3, Episode 13: “This Is a Dark Ride”).
(It's worth noting that this title hasn't been verified elsewhere yet, but this certainly sounds like a Pretty Little Liars episode title to us.)
