Pregnant Fergie’s Baby Gender Revealed? Josh Duhamel Drops Hint
English offers us "he," "she," and "it" to refer to most things. "He" often gets used in reference to a person in general, even though there are two genders and we are close to evenly split across the planet. This is only relevant because people are now reading into something almost-dad Josh Duhamel said when talking about childproofing the home he shares with his pregnant wife, Fergie.
"You know your kid is going to get — he’s going to fall and bump his head. And he’s going to do all of those things. But that to me is going to be the hardest thing,” Josh told the Associated Press (via People). He dropped two "he's" and that got people buzzing that they may be expecting a boy. It's possible. It'd be more clear if he kept saying "she," since that's rarely used as a gender-neutral term the way "he" can be. (Let’s change that — everyone start now!)
Anyway, boy or not, Josh and Fergie aren't exactly ready for the baby. “I’m realizing how much work we’re going to have to do to childproof our place. Or move. We’re not sure yet,” Josh said. “You start thinking about those things. You really do, and things that I’ve never thought about before.” Fergie recently admitted she has no idea what she's doing in terms of child-raising, and it sounds like Josh has been playing teacher. “You know, I was telling my wife yesterday,” Josh told AP, “she didn’t know that you can bathe kids in a sink when they’re newborn. That’s where you bathe them, in a sink, because they’re so little. She’s like, ‘Really?!'"
She'll figure it out when she needs to — which will be pretty soon!
