After sharing the happy news in December, Channing admitted to E! News that he’s both excited and apprehensive about fatherhood. “I mean, I don’t think there’s one thing that doesn’t terrify you, but in the most unbelievably beautiful way,” he said. “Someone said it's really like watching your heart jump out of your body and run around, and I think that can possibly be the coolest thing that I’ve heard of.”
While neither Channing nor Jenna has spilled the official due date, Channing revealed on the 2013 Oscars red carpet that Jenna is scheduled to give birth in London, where he’ll be filming a movie. He added that they’re waiting until the baby’s born to learn the sex.
So given what we know, when can we expect to meet the little Tatum?
Jenna began wearing looser-fitting dresses on the red carpet in mid-November, and when the pregnancy news came out in mid-December, after she baby-bumped her way onto the VH1 Divas red carpet (left), she was definitely showing. If she was, say, three months along at the VH1 Divas concert, which took place on December 16, her due date would fall sometime in June. That would jibe with something she said at the Oscars on February 24: “I have a few more months, so I’m walking the carpet trying to keep it together tonight, but we’re good!”
Channing currently has several projects in the works for 2014 and beyond, including The Contortionist’s Handbook, 21 Jump Street 2, and Jupiter Ascending. However, it’s unclear which of these (if any) would be filmed in London.
As Jenna nears her due date, she is apparently in full-on tiger mom mode. “She’s a complete animal right now!” Channing joked to E! News in late January. “[B]ut in the most beautiful like humanistic animal-y way. You know she works out all of the time, eats right, impeccably right. She’s just a machine.”
