Caution! Some spoilers for The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 18, “American Gothic” below!
The Vampire Diaries always leaves us guessing, especially now that Elena’s (Nina Dobrev) committed grand theft auto. We have tons of questions that we hope will be answered in Season 4, Episode 18, “American Gothic.”
What are the next steps in Silas’s plan?
The Expression triangle is complete! Witches are dead. Hybrids a slaughtered. Now what? Silas obviously wants the cure, but it doesn’t seem like the veil to the Other Side has been lifted. Does Silas still need to say the magic words?
Why does Katherine want the cure?
Oh, Katherine (Nina Dobrev). The vampire vixen has been on the run for so long, but she couldn’t hide forever. In Pennsylvania, Elena and Rebekah (Claire Holt) catch up with the doppelganger. She mocks Bex’s reason for wanting the cure (rude! Why, 1,000 is a perfectly acceptable age to have a baby!), so what’s her story? We’re guessing it has to do with Klaus (Joseph Morgan); on the other hand, you never can tell with Katherine.
Will Klaus help Silas?
Hm. We guess Shane (David Alpay)/Silas can whittle that leftover hunk of indestructible white oak into another stake and continue to threaten Klaus. It didn’t seem like Klaus wanted to assist Silas in his quest for the cure, but does he have much choice?
What’s Bonnie going to do?
We’re still not entirely sure if Bonnie (Kat Graham) is cured of her Silas brainwashing or not. We’re very interested to see what the witch makes of his plan to bring back Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) now — if she’s not faking her memory loss.
Where has Elijah been?
It’s been far too long since we’ve seen Elijah (Daniel Gillies) in something that wasn’t homespun. But he finally shows up somewhere in the midst of the Elena/Rebekah/Katherine drama. Is he also interested in the cure, or does he have something more romantic on his mind?
