Game of Thrones Season 3: “Bigger Dragons” and a Bigger Role for Emilia Clarke — Exclusive!

Emilia Clarke's Daenerys Targaryen is one of the central characters on Game of Thrones, but during the show's second season the focus turned towards the war in Westeros, leaving Dany with a smaller role. Will that change during Season 3?

Wetpaint Entertainment recently caught up with Emilia at the opening night of her first Broadway show, Breakfast at Tiffany's, in which she puts a new spin on the iconic Holly Golightly."In a nutshell, yes," Emilia told us when we asked if we'll be seeing more of Dany this season. "The dragons are bigger, and therefore so is Dany's role."

Of course, for anyone who's read the books, that makes perfect sense. We won't give away what happens to the Mother of the Dragons in the third book, but, as we noted to Emilia, she certainly doesn't spend half the novel wandering around the desert like she did in book two.

"Exactly," Emilia agreed.

And what about Emilia's big Broadway debut? Obviously, Holly Golightly is a very different part from Dany. So what new side of Emilia as an actress can fans expect to see if they go to the show?

"With Dany, she has to be so incredibly strong," Emilia explained. "And with Holly you get to see the cracks a lot more. And oddly, a lot more youth. So, that kind of vulnerability."

Game of Thrones premieres this Sunday, March 31 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO. And if you're in the NYC area, you can get tickets to see Emilia live in Breakfast at Tiffany's here.
