This was the kind of intense, heartbreaking episode that leaves us in awe of our favorite characters and reminds us exactly why we could never be doctors. It felt classic Grey's to us — absorbing medical drama mixed with fun interpersonal dynamics. And it was well balanced, giving many characters something to do. We approve.

Most of the docs spent the episode dealing with the fallout from a massive tanker crash on a highway. April was hit hard by a patient whose beautiful love story was cut short by death (also she totally almost made out with Jackson and then Matthew told her he loves her, sooooo....); Owen spent the episode bonding with a child whose parents were in critical condition (and annoying Cristina by bugging her about her patient, one of the 'rents); Alex dealt with jealousy issues; Ross and Heather fought for Derek's attention; and Callie made an awesome speech.

Meredith, meanwhile, spent the episode trying to figure out what was wrong with a young boy whose mother (played by Sarah Chalke) didn't believe that he just had strep. In the end, the mother's gut feeling was right: her son had Kawasaki disease; they caught it just in time.

Overall, we found this episode moving and absorbing. We give it 4 stars. What did you think?

Loved it!

I wasn't a huge fan.
