Grey’s Anatomy Season 9: Hilarie Burton Joins Cast as [SPOILER]
Brace yourselves One Tree Hill fans. Peyton Sawyer is headed to Grey’s Anatomy!
Hilarie Burton has signed on for a recurring guest role as a craniofacial specialist who visits Grey Sloan Memorial to work on a case, reports E! Online. As you can probably guess from the way it sounds, "Craniofacial" means related to the cranium/face. So it sounds like we can expect a cast that focuses on some sort of head/face injury or malformation.
Best known as angsty teen Peyton Sawyer on The CW’s One Tree Hill, Burton has since appeared on USA’s White Collar and ABC’s Castle. But of course, we’ll always remember Hilarie as a fresh-faced MTV VJ, who made her scripted debut on Dawson’s Creek.
Hilarie already has ties to Grey’s Anatomy -- or at least to one of the show’s most memorable guest stars. Her real-life love is Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who Grey’s fans may remember as heart transplant patient Denny Duquette. You know, the ailing patient Izzie falls in love with and subsequently has ghost sex with? Let’s hope Hilarie’s quest spot is a little less creepy.
Hilarie will make her Grey's Anatomy debut in May.
