Once Upon a Time Spin-Off Casts Alice, Gets Title

The Once Upon a Time spin-off news keeps rolling in! As we reported yesterday, the Alice in Wonderland-themed show recently cast its first major character, The Knave of Hearts. Now the Hollywood Reporter reports that the core cast has been flashed out with Alice herself, as well as her love interest, Cyrus. Plus, the project has finally gotten an official name!

Alice will be played by Sophie Lowe, an Australian actress; her love interest, a "mysterious" character named Cyrus, will be portrayed by Peter Gadiot. Apparently the project has been titled Once: Wonderland (creative, we know!), though obviously that could change along the way.

We think it's pretty cool that this spin-off is giving relatively unknown actors a chance to shine. Sophie has had a good career in Australia but is not well known in the US; Peter is also a newcomer with a short list of credits. While we personally watch enough British TV to already adore Michael Socha — who's playing the Knave of Hearts — he's also a new face for most American viewers.

Catch the next episode of Once Upon a Time on Sunday, April 21 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
