Synopsis of Glee Season 4, Episode 19: “Sweet Dreams”
Is Rachel soon to be Broadway-bound? We might finally find out in Glee Season 4, Episode 19: “Sweet Dreams.”
“Sweet Dreams” airs on April 18 (which is too far away!), and Fox has released the episode’s official synopsis:
“When the New Directions find out this year’s Regional’s theme is ‘Dreams,’ everyone has their own opinion as to what they should sing. Meanwhile, the day has finally come for Rachel to audition for the Broadway revival of Funny Girl."
We also know that this episode will feature the returns of NeNe Leakes as the hilarious Coach Roz and Idina Menzel as Rachel’s mom, Shelby.
Even more exciting is that Shelby and Rachel will be singing a duet, which is rumored to be Emeli Sandé’s “Next to Me.” All we know for sure is that the two apparently sound like “buttah” — at least according to Idina. And who are we to question Idina?
Judging from the synopsis, it’s also safe to assume that Shelby will be giving Rachel a few pointers on her big tryout, much as Shelby did last season when Rachel was gearing up for West Side Story. So will Rachel get the part? The suspense kills!
And we can’t wait to find out which dreams-related songs will be performed. We can only hope that the late-’80s classic “Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car” by Billy Ocean will make the cut — but we won’t hold our breath.
