The show's producers reportedly are considering letting her go at the end of the 2013 season because of her not-exactly-professional work ethic, according to Hollywood Life.
“The chances of Nicki returning to the show next season are slim-to-none," claims a source. Ouch!
"She is such a major headache with her behavior, and it’s really taxing on many people with the crew," the source continues. "So her behavior is wearing thin on many people this season.”
But is this the right move for the show? After all, Nicki is a lot of fun to watch, given her unpredictability, and she has helped the show continue to make headlines.
However, she has certainly had her share of issues since joining the show, including arriving late to a taping earlier this month.
Plus, the show's ratings have hit record lows, meaning her antics might be turning off viewers — or at least they might not be worth putting up with.
For her part, Nicki told reporters at a press conference this week that she is not yet ready to reveal whether she'll be returning next season.
"I think people would rather be surprised," Nicki explains. "I like to save the mystery and the drama."
"I never give that away, but you know what I always say this — and I mean this from the bottom of my heart — that just the people behind the scenes at Idol have been just like a dream to work with, and I really, really honestly mean that," she continued. Hmmm — kinda sounds like a goodbye speech, no?
So do you want Nicki back as a judge, or do you think Nicki was meant to fly — away from the show, that is?
