Michael Jordan: Counter Suing in Paternity Scandal
Just when we thought it was over, it turns out that the Michael Jordan paternity scandal is getting even uglier, and we just hope the child involved, a 16-year-old boy named Taj, can keep his spirits up throughout!
Last month, Pamela Smith slam dunked the NBA superstar with a paternity lawsuit, claiming that Michael was the father of her son, and that it was high time he owned up—and paid up. Pamela asked a judge for a DNA sample to verify her claim. Throughout the ordeal, Michael vehemently denied that he is the boy’s father. Just when it was all coming to a head, Pamela dropped the case without an explanation.
But Michael isn’t going to let this one go without a fight, and he’s playing a different sport than we’re used to seeing: hardball. According to TMZ, Michael has filed legal documents asking that the case be kept open so that he can file a counter-claim against Pamela. The star wants his court costs covered, and intends to see Pamela pay, in whatever ways a judge deems apt, for dragging him through the mud.
Certainly, if Michael is innocent we can see why he would be upset. We just hope that Taj, who has thus far ardently identified himself as the son of Michael Jordan, can stay strong and focus on his future—not other people’s versions of the past.
