Adam Levine and Maroon 5 Prepare For Followup Album to Overexposed
Adam Levine and pop rock band Maroon 5 might be “overexposed,” but they’re certainly taking advantage of their time in the spotlight. As they prepare to finish up their massive North American Tour, the band has just announced a new summer amphitheater tour with Kelly Clarkson.
And that’s not their only big news of the week. In June 2012, the band released the widely-popular album Overexposed, and it seems they’re already prepping for a followup.
"We're just getting started. We've got some great songs in the can," Adam told The Associated Press.
And though Overexposed was a more pop-focused record, guitarist James Valentine says that the next album will have a different sound.
"The stuff we're working on now, it definitely has gone maybe a little darker in its sound, maybe back a little bit more to what we kind of did on (our debut) Songs About Jane," James said. "But at this point we do have all kinds of different songs and it is early."
We know that The Voice Season 4 ends on June 18 and the new Honda Civic Tour starts on August 1, leaving the band close to two months to record and release the album. Totally possible with the right team and little sleep!
