So, who rocked Week 3, and who should have just skipped the party? We bring you our picks for the best and worst of the week.
Best: Jacoby Jones & Karina Smirnoff
Last night's show had three standout dances, but we're giving the edge to Jacoby Jones andKarina Smirnoff's Rumba to "Stay" by Rihanna because it surprised us the most. We've been enjoying Jacoby's exuberant performances, but we weren't sure how he'd handle the slow, sensual, technical Rumba. His combo of intense artistry and decent technique knocked our socks off. (And, yeah, we're not going to complain about his shirtlessness, even if it's not very prom-y.)
Zendaya Coleman continues to impress. We loved this Viennese Waltz to “Que Sera Sera.”
Honorable mention: Kellie Pickler &Derek Hough
Kellie Pickler andDerek Hough earned the highest score of the night for this Jive to "Footloose." We're not necessarily convinced this dance deserved a 9 over Zendaya or Jacoby, but it was certainly, fun, fast, and sharp.
Worst: Wynonna Judd & Tony Dovolani
Oh, Wynonna Judd. The stripper pole. The stiff movements. The costume. This Samba to “Pour Some Sugar on Me” by Def Leppard didn't just miss the mark — we're not sure it knew where the mark was.
D.L. Hughley finally scored higher than Wynonna this week! At that was the right call — this Salsa to "Sex Machine" by James Brown was nowhere near as hard to watch as Wynonna's Samba. D.L. is definitely improving, and at least it looks like he's having fun. That said, he was still near the bottom of the pack.
