Pretty Little Liars Writer Sara Sheperd Launches New Bravo Series, Heiresses

Just after calming down from the Ravenswood spin-off news, we have another Pretty Little Liars-esque show to cheer about: Heiresses, based on Sara Sheperd’s upcoming novel.

Surprisingly, this show will not be on ABC Family like her other two shows (PLL and The Lying Game) — instead, it’s headed to reality TV-centric network, Bravo, airing amongst all of the Housewives and Top Chefs.

According to a press release, this one-hour drama “follows one of the most prestigious and wealthy families on the Upper East Side who have built their entire fortune on the business of diamonds.” However, everything is not as it seems, and in true Sara fashion, there’s murder, deception, and mystery involved.

“Due to a clause the grandfather placed in his will, only his granddaughters are set to inherit his massive fortune…these are the heiresses,” the release continues. “After the death of their cousin, the remaining heiresses try to figure out if the family curse is real or not, and if not, who killed their cousin, and more importantly, which one of them is next on the hit list?”

Whoa! But will it one-up the Rosewood (or Ravenswood) drama? We’ll just have to wait and see. This pilot is in development for 2013, but hopefully we will get more intel on this PLL-meets-Gossip Girl show during Bravo’s upfronts. With Les Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo (who have worked on PLL, The Lying Game, and more) as executive producers for Alloy Entertainment, we bet it will be just as good, if not better than the shows we already know and love.

Are you excited for Heiresses, or do you think nothing can top PLL? Sound off below.
